San Juan
Engineering, Inc. is anchored by Rick Johnson and Dan Peters, both registered
Professional Engineers in Colorado with proven technical and management
expertise. They are assisted by CAD
technician Anna Buehling. This
“in-house” staff is capable of performing most civil and environmental work,
however, for large projects, we have developed relationships with carefully
selected and proven sub-consultants to provide any additional work or areas
of expertise. Rick was
born and raised in La Plata County. He
has substantial experience working in the engineering field in the Four
Corners region and throughout the United States. His prior work at Rick Johnson Engineering,
Inc. was centered on land development, subdivision design, and water and
wastewater treatment for individual and small community systems. Prior to
founding Rick Johnson Engineering, Inc., Rick was Engineering Manager for the
Southern Ute Indian Tribe based in Ignacio, Colorado. His responsibilities during this time
included housing developments, water and sewer line designs, facilities
planning and wastewater treatment plant design. Currently,
Rick provides engineering and planning services for the Purgatory
Metropolitan, South Durango, Ignacio, and Loma Linda Sanitation Districts.
Rick has also worked for a number of environmental and engineering consulting
firms in Durango, Denver, Phoenix, and Chicago. Dan brings
to San Juan Engineering, Inc. more than 12 years of water and wastewater
treatment expertise gained from his tenure as a Project Manager and Project
Engineer at Montgomery Watson Harza, a major international environmental
engineering firm. His past work
history covers all aspects of municipal water and wastewater treatment,
including planning, pilot testing, preliminary design, final design, cost
estimating, bidding services and construction management services. Additionally, Dan is experienced in
computer modeling of distribution and collection systems and treatment plant
hydraulics, and has also performed numerous environmental and hazardous waste
investigations. Reco was
born and raised in La Plata County. He
worked as an intern for Rick Johnson Engineering throughout his college
career at Colorado School of Mines, and upon graduation, moved to Houston to
refine his multi-disciplinary engineering abilities and to increase his
knowledge of “real-world” application by working for General Electric, Baker
Hughes, and finally Dannenbaum Engineering. Anna boasts
over 15 years of drafting and planning experience in the Durango area. She brings a woman’s artistic touch to
planning and development and offers a vast knowledge in the application of
drafting standards. |
