Project Manager for the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado, Solids Processing Improvements-Phases 1, 2 and 3. In Phase 1 of these modified design-build
projects, Mr. Peters led the design of the modifications to the existing
anaerobic digesters including converting the digester lids from gas-holding
covers to gas-holding, spiral-guided, floating covers. Additionally, new ATARA gas mixing systems
were designed, as well as a chemical feed system for hydrogen sulfide
control. Phase 2 involved
modifications to an existing structure to hold two, new, high-solids
dewatering centrifuges. This work
included pumping and piping replacement and installation of shaftless screw
conveyors. Phase 3 involved
construction of a new anaerobic digester, repiping of the entire digester
complex and installation of a new boiler and heat exchanger. Project Manager for the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado, Solids Study. Mr. Peters evaluated and made recommendations for
improving and expanding the solids processing facilities for the City’s two
wastewater treatment plants. The study
evaluated different thickening, stabilization, and dewatering alternatives
including dissolved air flotation thickeners, egg-shaped digesters,
centrifuges, and belt presses. As part
of this work, Mr. Peters received SDIC training (Systematic Development of
Informed Consent). This unique
training program provides participants with tools for handling difficult
issues that are subject to opposition from the public. Project Manager for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe
Wastewater Treatment Plant, Ignacio, Colorado. Mr. Peters managed design and construction
management of this new 0.8 mgd wastewater treatment plant. This facility utilizes rotary screening,
grit removal, an oxidation ditch for nitrification and denitrification,
ultraviolet irradiation for disinfection, and aerobic digestion, high-rate
drying beds, and air drying for biosolids treatment. For the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, Mulberry
Water Reclamation Facility design and construction project, Mr. Peters served
as project engineer and coordinator for design development, detailed design,
and construction of plant improvements including ultraviolet disinfection
system, flume/splitter structure, operations building, septage waste
treatment station, yard piping, electrical and instrumentation work. This $2.5 million project utilized a
variation of the “design-build” process.
In this instance, a contractor was brought on board following
pre-design to provide input on value engineering, constructability, and cost
estimating. City
of Farmington, New Mexico, Wastewater Collection and Treatment System Master
Plan. Mr. Peters provided quality
assurance and quality control for this master planning effort which involved
population projections, wastewater treatment alternatives development, cost
estimating, evaluations and recommendations. |
